Default import backup

Help,

Some time ago I had a catastrophic meltown of my blackberry. Long story but I corrupted everything and ended up with a new 8830.

I rebuilt a large portion on m contacts, but have since discovered a previous backup that I would like to import (i lost a lot of old contacts).

an I import the backup without corrupting what already exists (yes, I backed it up already so it is safe). Better yet, can I open the back up in another program (excel?) so I can sort and clean it?

Thanks for any help.

Default

Anything you import from a backup will replace the same data on your Berry.

There is a free tool called "ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor" (google for it). It let's you open an .ipd file (BB backup file), and edit the address book info.

Once you've done that, you can do a selective restore, and restore only your contact info.
