I bought my blackberry curve 8300 two weeks ago and just over the weekend my friend thought it would be funny to throw me into the pool.... Lol you know what's coming. My phone and wallet were still in my pockets, but the phone was the biggest concern. I took it apart, dipped it in ethanol and dried it for a couple days like I have read on the internet, but when i put the battery in today the only thing that came on was the camera light.

So what I am trying to ask is I am still within 30 days from buying my BB, can I still buy insurance despite ruining the phone already? My friend is still paying for it either way but I am trying to save him some money cause he's not a bad guy.

Welcome to the BBForums.

That would not be honest. I would not recommend trying to cheat the insurance company out of something that is not their responsibility.

A good point JS, after all, this would be considered insurance fraud if discovered.

Plus to add insurance after the fact you usually have to bring in the phone and prove it works. This is to help protect them from this type of fraud. Tell your friend to man up and pay fully for his mistake.

Wirelessly posted (off to see the wizard)

Even if I had insurance I would likely make my friend pay up.

The right thing to do is let him pay for it. Check the buy sell trade section maybe a deal in there.

I know at ATT you can add insurance to the device within the 1st 30 days. However phone has to be functional they will perform a test call to the device to ensure device is workin
