Default IMAP Email Troubles

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Ok, so I have a Blackberry Curve on Verizon Wireless. I didn't buy the "corporate" plan, so I'm accessing my Exchange email via IMAP. It works well for the most part. If I read or delete a message on the device, it shows up as "read" or "deleted" in Outlook. If I send a message from the device, it shows up in my sent folders in Outlook.

The problem I'm having is when I read or delete a message in Outlook. It does not show up as read or deleted on the device. How can I get this functionality to work both ways?

Thanks in advance!

-Mike

Mike, that should work, and "sometimes" the read/delete reconciles from the server to the BB just take longer. The reverser (BB --> Sever) happens more immediately.

I've actually noticed this as well with my IMAP account. Reading or deleting a message on the server does not seem to ever mark the message read or delete it on my Blackberry. (I've waited for quite a while.) The only way I can get a message to delete automatically on my BB after I've deleted it on the server is by manually marking the message read on the BB and then waiting a while for the change to propagate.

Question

I've tried waiting overnight, and the reverse still doesn't happen.

Not a HUGE deal, but it would be nice if it worked properly.

Is it possible I have a setting wrong somewhere?
