Hmm interesting. BB is already pretty tough, that would make it super tough.

I was reading about this today, I can't wait to see if it really works. Just the dust factor would be great.

This stuff look amazing! I think they ought to team up with the manufactures and offer this as an option to new purchases. I for one have not had my phone long enough to have to answer it in the rain, but I imagine this will be a traumatic experience when it happens...lol.

But would you be willing to pay $50-75 more for a phone in order to get it?

And what would it do to the cost of repairs?

My BB has never been swimming, but it's had a lot of drops and shows no scars, thanks to Invisible Shield. My son's BB has been for a swim and he was able to clear it with a little shaking & a hair dryer set on cold.

You could be absolutely sure of waterproofing by getting an Invisible Shield and an OtterBox case and then sticking the whole thing in a block of lucite, locking that in nesting waterproof marine cases and placing the whole thing at the equigravitational point between the Earth and the Moon, but it would make charging it a little tough and you would need really long range on your Bluetooth.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

I have been able to waterproof my BB but I find it a little difficult to press the keys or talk on the phone through the Ziplock bag!

An interesting idea. I have heard that some handset manufacturers are experimenting with a waterproof coating inside the battery cavity to help prevent liquid intrusion as well.

That really seems like a great product. We will see how it pans out over the next couple of years. If we never hear about it again we will know that either it didn't work, or it was so good that the government decided to appropriate it for national security purposes.

I've noticed the same thing, but there are also people like myself who get upset when their protective case shows a rub or scratch. I need to come up with a case that protects my protective case now...

Seriously, although I see people being careless with their expensive gadgets I can't let myself worry about it. After all, it's not my stuff that they are beating up. I just make a note to myself to never lend that person anything.
