Possible to sell insurance-replaced phone and upgrade?

I have Asurion insurance thru Verizon. My 8130 broke (trackball thingamabob exploded to pieces, yay), so they sent me a new one. Of course I need to send my old one back to them within 15 days. I want to upgrade to the Curve (8330) which is now available thru Verizon. I am not due for an upgrade anytime soon.
My Question: Can I sell the phone that was sent to me (completely packaged, brand new) to somebody else and purchase a Curve on my own? This is not insurance fraud in any way, and I'm not trying to screw anybody, but while I have a brand-spankin new phone, and upgrade to the Curve might be worth my time. Ideas/thoughts? Is the phone sent to me by Asurion going to cause any problems to the person I sell it to (linked to my account in some way)?
Does anyone know if there are going to be any insurance issues for the person I sell this phone to? They should be able to just pick up Asurion insurance when they activate it thru verizon, correct?
As long as you send your broken phone back to Asurion and pay your deductible, then there's no problem.
You've fulfilled your obligation for an insurance replacement.
Go ahead and sell the device. The buyer should have no trouble activating it.
As far as I know, the buyer won't be able to get insurance on the phone, since it wasn't purchased directly from Verizon Wireless. This would be true of any device sold via third-party.
