| Limitations of phone number fields Please Login to Remove! Is it possible to add additional custom text to the phone numbers of a single contact? I want my Blackberry to NOT dial the additional text as part of the phone number. Here's an example. Let's say I try to add the following to a contact:
Work: (212) 555-9876 direct
Work2: (718) 555-1717 home office
Home: (718) 555-6464 home
Other: (212) 555-1000 assistant
In this example, the fields "work", "work2", "home", and "other" are insufficient to properly identify each number. But my Blackberry (Curve 8330/Verizon) converts all the additional text (i.e. "direct", "home office", etc) to numbers and dials them when I try to make an outgoing call.
For example, if I try to dial the work number above, my phone will dial 212-555-9876-347328 (converting the word "direct" to its numberical equivalent). Is there a way to either stop my Blackberry from dialing the additional digits, OR is there some other way for me to enter this custom information so that I won't have this problem? Thanks! |
