I have exactly the same question for BBSMart Email viewer for my BB 8130 on Telus. I am baffled by all these connection settings!

I would really appreciate some assistance.

Thanks!

Do what dawg said... have it the program check for best connection. Usually it will configure it automatically.

Yep, the beauty of CDMA, no need for all that.

OK – my BBSmart Viewer has been working – partially - all along, but every time I open the email application, I get a message from BBSmart that my email connection settings may not be correct, so it has disabled the viewing of images.

When I go to set up the connection, I am presented with four connection options. There is not an option to have the program check the connections “automatically”. The four options are:

• BES/MDS
• BIS
• TCP/IP
• WAP

When I select these in turn and ask the program to test the connection, I get an error message saying “connection failure” for BES/MDS and BIS.

When I tested TCP/IP, it said “connection successful”, but when I try to use the program, I get the same error about my connection settings not being correct.

WAP configuration is a problem, because I do not know the settings to which Bowtiegoddess referred to above:

WAP APN:
WAP IP:
WAP PORT:
WAP USER NAME:
WAP PASSWORD

I appreciate your assistance!

Thanks!

Do a Google search for "apn settings for blackberry curve". I am unable to post the link due to this boards restrictions, but once you search, see the 8th one down, click on it and follow the posts and you will find your data. Now a note of warning. I am having problems displaying images with BBSmart v 2.3 with my BIS setup. I wrote the authors of BBSmart and they wrote back informing me that RIM has made changes to the HTML email on the BIS and they are making an update to the program. I was told it should be available in 1-2 weeks. Until then, you still may not get the full use of BBSmart without the new update. Your mileage may vary.

Same issue with BIS connection setting not working all of the sudden. Switched to TCPIP and performed a battery pull. So far so good.

The batt pull (while running) was needed to make it work right. But hopefully they'll fix BIS setting.
