In simple terms it's the provider sending their content to the receiver as it becomes available, instead of the receiver requesting the content.

It is very hard to delete later and stop the service. I spent two days and numerous support emails to accuweather.com to have them stop sending me bad weather reports.

I had signed up for the Acculink push weather twice a day, and it would "push" me a weather report from 8am at 11:30, and one from 5pm at midnight. Didn't seem to efficient lol

Should be very easy. IIRC, you can delete browser push channels via your bookmarks unless there's some other issue that is complicating things.
