I've just got a new contract with Orange, and am currently waiting for my mobile number to switch over from o2 to Orange...so I currently have a temporary number for the Blackberry.

Question is, can I set up email like this? If I do will I have to make changes once the number changes?

You can set it up now. The phone number has no impact on your BlackBerry data services.
