Default Setting up email - another question regarding IMEI, PIN and PAC

Please Login to Remove!

As said on another thread, I've just got my new Blackberry but am waiting for the number to transfer onto Orange from o2. I've given Orange the PAC code given to me by O2, and am now waiting for the transfer to happen this coming Tuesday.

Anyway, I'm trying to set up email, and have been told to go to blackberry.orange.co.uk. I get there fine and to open an account give them by IMEI number and PIN number from the Options -> Status menu on the Blackberry, which returns the error "This Blackberry is registered with a different service provider. Please re-register this Blackberry and verify the URL matches the one provided by your service provider."

What's going on? I bought it new, direct from Orange. Only thing I can think of is the PAC code issue with O2 / Orange, but this surely doesn't effect the new phone??

Any help / advice appreciated.

you have to call the original blackberry supplier (i would guess o2) and have them release your PIN number. If the PIN is registered with ANY carrier, it can only be registered with that carrier, until its released. They are not one use, but only used by one carrier at a time.

The old phone WASN'T (isn't..) a Blackberry, it's just an o2 pay as you go SIM, all that's happening is they are transferring the number onto the Orange SIM.

Not the old phone -- the BB. The BB has a BIS account associated with it (don't know why since it's new) that needs to be deleted.
