I want to get a case for my 8700 and was going to get the Krusell model with the flap.

But my boss has this case and doesn't like it.. After a bit of hunting around, I founds the "Cabriolet" version, which looks ideal.. But since it hasn't got a flap, it won't have the magnets which tell the BB wither its in or out of the holster...

Am I right in thinking that if you use a 'Cabriolet', then the BB is always "out" of the holster? Or have Krusell come up with an ingenious way of changing the status from in to out?

I have a Krussel case for my curve.

It has a plastic cover for the screen and is open for the keyboard area. Is this what yoiu mean by cabriolet.

If so then i only use it to lodge it on my dashboard during driving so i can see who is calling or use the sat nav.

the way around the non magnet issue is to use the media button on top to send it to sleep if you don't want to see it.

I think thats the one.. Its listed as a 'Cabriolet' version, but I havnt' seen one in the flesh.

My problem isn't about whether I want to 'see' it.. But the fact that my ring tones (i.e vibrate+tone, tone, off) are different when its holstered.

So, if I go to a "cabriolet", I will loose some of this functionality.. Wether this is important, I don't know...

well it doesn't "holster" it, thats for certain.

as i say i only use it in the car and use the case my curve came with for carrying around.

a solution may be to reverse the ringtones etc.. so that when its in the cabriolet it acts like its out of the holster and when in the case it acts like it in the holster.
