They called me and asked if I would give them some hacks. He gave me a list of what he had and most were pretty well known if you use this board or have been using your BB for very long. I didn't submit anything because I couldn't think of anything he already said they had. I'm sure their will be some things new in there but it will be best for those BB users who don't know we exist.

Disclosure:

I worked on BlackBerry Hacks.

Having said that, it is a fantastic resource for BES Admins and Power-Users and covers a great amount of ground in terms of providing new services to BlackBerry devices.

It is also a great book to get someone new to BlackBerry devices that doesn't know all of the things they can actually do with the BlackBerry.

And a lot of things may well be here too, but not everyone has the patience to wade through all the things they're not interested in. Sometimes its nice to have a Table of Contents, you know?

I've worked on several books dealing with mobile tech, and this one was my favorite. It is really quite excellent.

I just want to make sure people consider that not everyone has enough free time to scour resources looking for things like some of the hacks that may or may not have made it in.

Usually the people using a BlackBerry *simply have no time* to go hunting for things like that; in those circumstances having a reference like BlackBerry Hacks will certainly be welcome.

Thinking of most Sr. Management in the company I work for carrying either a GoodLink'ed Treo 650 or BlackBerry/BES, not a chance they know they can have a Today screen, instant Weather reports, a good IM client.

They know these things are POSSIBLE but they don't feel that they want to go do all the homework and testing required to figure it out. They're busy. That is why they have a BlackBerry!
