I have a user with an 8330 Curve (an executive) - and he is on our BES server. We are running Outlook 2003 SP2. He travels a lot and when traveling and he deletes e-mail from his device, the e-mails are still in his Outlook when he returns to the office; he doesn't like having to delete the same e-mails again.

I've spent over an hour searching for an answer before bothering you but I can't find if this is the normal way the BES works (can't find settings on the server to change it) or if I'm just missing something.

You know I've never been on a BES (nor have seen one), I think this has something to do with the wireless reconciliation option.

This is a setting on the blackberry - go into Messages, then bring up the menu and go to Options, then Email Reconciliation, Delete on is probably set to Handheld - you can change it to Mailbox and Handheld or Prompt
