|  how to add symbols in the text

I am developing an application in which I want to draw the Text. The Text contains both symbol as well as letters. Letters are used as it is.
But how I can add the symbols....?
For this I am trying to put the ASCII value of the symbols. But I am not getting the output which I want.
Is it proper way to do so...??
Please help me.
