Default Editing forwarded messages - why not?!

Is there some good story or reason why this is not supported? Is there some esoteric ISO email standard that says this is technically not allowed?

Please, someone enlighten me. Why doesn't RIM support this? Arghhhh

Editing what someone said and sending it on as "what they said" doesn't sound like the best thing to me.

Umm, true - but its fairly common for me to "clip" a small portion of a business email and forward it on, because that's the only part that's of importance to the folks I'm forwarding to.

Additionally, there are times when I wish to forward a technical answer from someone in my company to a client, but there have been extra comments made about sales and pricing strategy and other things which I do NOT wish the client to see.

It maybe "doesn't sound like the best thing" but its VERY common in the business world, without trying to improperly change what someone said or meant. I agree its quite frustrating that BB doesn't allow it.

I'll admit I've found this frustrating myself. Sometimes I like to remove extraneous addresses in the chain from the email text, and the BB won't allow it.

Have you tried cut and paste to a new email? This also cuts out exposing other's emails to the public.

That's my method (copy/paste portions from original to a NEW REPLY or Forward).

Yeah, that works, but I would much rather cut from the original. Oh well, for now...
