Unhappy Service Outage 8/24 Now TCP/IP won't work.

Hey everyone, I've searched till my fingers are sore for information about this and I've been on the phone with Cingular so long I want to strangle someone. Finally I'm posting a message about it. My apologizes if this has been discussed ad infinitum since yesterday but if it has, I can't find the discussion.

There was a service outage 8/24 in the Phoenix area (it may have been larger?) and I could not send or receive data from/to my BB7290. The banner on the main page said "Data Connection Refused" and nothing worked that was data specific, pin, email, etc.

I called Cingular finally about 7pm AZ time and was told there was a large outage affecting the western US. Today on 8/25 I still had the same message on the banner so I called once again this afternoon.

The tech asked me to reset the blackberry, then go to [options], [host routing table] and do a {register now}, then reset once again. Once I completed this I could send and receive PIN messages and my email started coming through again.

Unfortunately now every time I try to establish a TCP/IP connection with Idokorro Mobile SSH, VeriChat, or even use BBWeather, I get "Error: Could not open tunnel - failed" messages.

The Cingular bb reps (and supervisor) maintain that my account has not been changed in any way. Being somewhat clueless, they insisted that my blackberry doesn't support TCP/IP and I got the "Oh, a woman who thinks she knows technical stuff." attitude etc. :: sigh ::

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen these problems and if there's a known fix? Anything I can do or say to help explain the issues to them?
