Default Saving words using suretype - 08-07-2008, 02:42 PM

I don’t understand predictive text and have never mastered it on any of my run of the mill phones; I’ve always switched it off. Now that I have my 7130g, and read up on suretype, I’ve given it a go and it seems to live up to what people are saying about it. Like most people in industry I have peculiar words which I have had to spell out. My question is this, I am using the memopad to practice in and have a shed load of words staring back at me, have these words been saved by virtue of the fact that I have typed the word and moved on or, if I now delete this memopad note will they all disappear. If I use multitap to spell a word and then switch back to suretype, will it save it. I have saved the note just in case.

Usually if you type the word and then hit space, it will remember the word. Try to type the word again fully without backspacing or making changes in the middle.

Thanks. What was confusing me was one of my words is ‘backcoating’ and it kept on suggesting ‘backcosting’, after entering ‘backcoating ‘ 5 times, it now suggest it, what I didn’t know, but is now so obvious I’m blushing, is that the word I wanted was underneath the suggested word and not visible at the side. I am now going through all my peculiar words and typing them until they become the preferred word. As you can guess I’m at the bottom of the learning curve.

It helps me with Suretype if I don"t look at the screen, concentrate on the typing then look at the screen.

SureType - Learn To Love It | BlackBerryNews.com was the article that persuaded me to try it, as a 1 fingered typist I have to look at the keyboard. The next thing to learn is how to post links.
