Exclamation Need help!!

I have the BBCurve. Recently when my little sister gave me my phone back the screen was black. I asked her if it she remembers anything that might have caused this and she said nothing happened......The problem is the screen is black, but the phone still makes sound once in a while. What could have caused this and is it reversible?

Well its been about 12-15 hours since it occurred. I have only recently (within the last 2 hours) taken out the battery and started to dry the phone. Is it still possible to save the phone?

I think it may be possible since it still makes noise when i tried it but I am not really good with fixing phones or phones in general.

I heard putting it in uncooked rice, on top of the tv (or behind?) helps al ot.
I've also heard that drenching it in ALCOHOL as it evaporates WATER, and is safe on electronic deviceses, is also an idea, but I'd get a second opinion prior to that. Leave it for a few days. Don't plug it in, or even touch the device!!! shake the rice.

Hmmm....the moisture indicator is a small white square on the casing near the battery that turns red when it comes in contact with moisture. The battery sticker isn't a good indication. I've seen new batteries out of the box with the red line.

well there is a small square white sticker on the top of back on the right of where my memory card(I think) goes.

Since that sticker is white could it mean the phone doesn't have water damage?

Only your sister can tell you that.
The symptoms you've described can be explained by water damage.

Thats what i thought at first but when I look at the phone's sticker it isnt red, only the sticker on the battery have a red line through. So could it just be the battery? Should i try to replace the battery?

My 8320 did that one day when I was just sitting using it. Didn't do anything to it, just quit. The device still worked as it would vibrate when a message came in but I couldn't do anything with it.

Is the device under warranty? If the water sticker is white (the one on the case near the battery/mem card then they will cover it as long as there is no physical damage. When they send you a replacement they don't send a battery so you don't return the battery to them. If the white square is white, you're good to go.

Yours is the same as mine - white square in battery compartment. The white square ON the battery has a solid red stripe and always has....
