Default URGENT: VZ 8830 BIS Dead- "Jum Error 182"

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a corporate (government) Verizon 8830 user. BB was fine through Sunday evening. It had 82% battery late in afternoon. Checked again in evening, and it had red "battery low" warning, so I plugged it in. Came back to find it with the subject error.

Anyone know what has happened? Long battery pulls have not solved.

Thanks....Jeff.

Damn those jum errors!

You might find jum is actually "JVM". Unfortunately Google comes up with very little:

"JVM Error 182" - Google Search

From one of the links:

Quote:
i fiddled with the battery and the card and got it to work after about 6 tries. and it is working. but i dont want it to happen again.
i brought it to a service location and the guy told me it needs to be replaced!

I think replacing the device may be a little drastic, IMO.

Not too much on the error. I doubt that you have any 3rd party apps on your device given you are a government employee. I would imagine they have IT policies preventing 3rd party apps. But I will ask anyway, do you have any 3rd party applications on the device?

Before you try anything, I would talk to your BES admin and get their suggestion as to what to do.

I would think that wiping the device and reloading the OS would clear the issue.

Thanks. I do run PocketDay and Google maps on the device. Pocketday has already agreed to give me a new key, since the device can't be saved! My IT person could not get the device to take the operating software! And it was JVM 102--thanks.

A new device is supposedly being overnighted.....Thanks...Jeff.

JVM 102 is a whole lot different than 182.

JVM 102 is a hardware fault.
