Default Open Access to Phone Features?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

We have a BES server with about ten users. All of which constantly complain about the password lock. Not wanting to eliminate password security, is there a way to allow them to access phone features only without a password?

Right now if the hit the phone key they get the option to place a call with entering a password for for some even that is too much. I must admit I have a button on my pearl for voice dialing and it will not work unless I am logged in. It would be able to just dial a number as you would with a cell phone. My company is more worried about someone accessing email and not so much about the phone so if I could open up the phone features with no lock and just keep the password for anything beyond dialing it would be great. is there any way to do this?

Options -> Security Options -> General Settings and enable Allow Outgoing Calls While Locked

When the phone is locked it should display an option called Place Call. Hopefully that does what you want.

The IT Policy on the BES also needs to have the following setting:

Allow Outgoing Call When Locked = True

Once that is set, the end user can then set the Allow Outgoing Calls While Locked to Yes.
