Question Desktop manager 4.0 SP1 and modem disappearing

Please Login to Remove!

I am currently using 4.0033 and have no problem with the modem. However, I recall reading somewhere here (I searched for the thread, if anyone finds it please post it here) a while back that when one uninstalls the old 4.0 and install the SP1 version, the modem disappears. I am about to upgrade to SP1, but have two questions.

1) Will the modem disappear, if so do I have to go to add/remove programs to put it back?

2) Is there any benefit to going with SP1?
