we have a friend that won a BB 8310. She has a BIS account and would like to sync her e-mails with the Exchange server at her work...

We suggested her to use the OWA and it's working fine but, of course, when she reads an e-mail at the BB, it didn't mark as read at her Outlook.

We also suggest her to install the BB desktop manager, but she said that the "Reconcile Messages" is disabled.

Will it be possible? Is there a way to do that without the BES Server?

I forgot to mention that she has the BB attached to the computer using the USB cable.

She could run Redirector, but that is a very poor solution, IMHO.

First suggestion would be to talk to the IT staff where she works and see if they allow POP access. If so then she could get mail via BIS, but email does not sync. When she reads it on her PC or the BB it doesn't show as opened or deleted on the other.

You can do this. I have about 1/4 of my users setup to do this. We have Exchange, but we have their e-mails setup through BIS. They sync their contacts and calendar via the USB cable. They read a message on their BB and it marks in as read on their Outlook. They delete a message on their BB and they get a prompt asking them if they want to "Delete on Handheld" or "Delete on Handheld and Mailbox" (meaning Outlook). Works well.

On the BB, go into the message, then options,
then Email Reconciliation
Then choose the e-mail address and make the necessary changes (turn on reconciliation, etc.)

Now I will add that if they delete it, or read it on their Outlook, those changes will not be made on their BB.
