I've been using my Blackberry to access personal email from several accounts for some time now. Today I thought I'd try to set up desktop redirection so that my work emails can be forwarded on as well.

I installed Desktop manager on my PC and got everything set up and configured fine ehre as far as I can tell. The redirection service is running and is showing emails being forwarded to the Blackberry, at least according to the redirector program screen.

The problem I'm having is that none of the messages are actually arriving on my Blackberry. Is there something I need to set up on my Blackberry as well? Or is there another service that I need to pay for?

I'm still receiving mails from my personal accounts just fine, it's only the redirected emails I'm not receiving at this point.

Does your work use Exchange as their e-mail system?

Yes, and I'm using Outlook.

It's wierd, the redirector app says it's forwarding messages, and I'm definitely still getting messages from my other personal email account, but nothing from my work email

Does AT&T have a two tiered system for BlackBery Data Plans - one for BIS and one for BIS/BES?

I don't know. I know I have the BIS plan - dod I need the BES plan for redirection to work? If so then I know I don't have that, so I'm SOL

You will need the Enterprise plan for Redirector to function. A BIS plan won't work.

Two things:

1 - I figured it out. Apparently I had to sync my BB with Desktop Manager to get the key and all that set up, now it works perfectly - I'm sending and receiving emails with no problems.

2 - Apparrently you don't need BES to make it work - I just double checked with ATT, and I have only the BIX plan, and redirection is working fine for me.

Keep in mind that Redirector is very flakey and you need to keep the PC on and connected for you to send and receive email via that connection. If your company allows POP connections, then IMHO, that is a much better solution.

But in any case, glad you got it to work and I hope it continues!

My company has BES but this is my personal blackberry and i don't want that tied to a BES account at work. I don't really want to carry around another blackberry, and I don't want to use my company blackberry for personal calls and browsing, so this is really the only option for me.

I don't think we have POP access.

Kinda what I figured. Hope it works out. You see good and bad on here - 50/50 proposition I think.

I am also facing same proble,wasted enough time to search for a solution.

Could you please guide me how to sync BB with Desktop Manager.

Download and install DM. Plug your BlackBerry in while DM is running. Let DM work it's magic.

Have you tried integrating your work account with BIS via OWA?
