If it is with the same carrier, should be no problem. Just log into the BIS account and switch the PIN and IMEI to your new device, send the service books and you shoudl be good to go.
However, if you have changed carriers, then you are out of luck. Another reason not to use it - you cannot take it with you when you switch carriers.It goes away as soon as you cancel the account.
