Issue w/ blackberry redirector + Exchange 2003 SP1 (doesn't close MAPI connection) I'm having a problem with users running blackberry software version 3.6.0.31. We recently migrated to exchange 2003 Service pack 1. However, I am now seeing the following in the event logs for users that are running the redirector software: Mapi session "/o=SHLAWRI/ou=first administrative group/cn=Recipients/cn=*the user's id*" exceeded the maximum of 250 objects of type "objtMessage". For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp. I've contacted microsoft.. they gave me a hotfix that isn't released to the general public yet, however that didn't resolve the issue. They recommended I contact the software manufacturer. It seems that the problem is that the blackberry redirector software doesn't close it's MAPI connection to the exchange server. Exchange 2003 Service pack 1 has a limit of 250 messages that can be opened in a single MAPI session. While you can manually increase this limit by doing a registry edit, it wouldn't matter how high you set the limit, because as long as the redirector software is open, it keeps a constant MAPI session open, and eventually the message # limit that can be opened in a single session will be reached. Does anyone know if version 4.0 SP1 of the redirector software addresses this issue? i didn't notice any text that states it does in the release notes. Thank You! |
