Default Address Book challenged

Please Login to Remove!

I just haven't figured it out yet, I guess. When I sync with my outlook contacts, I end up with many dups. I have configured the address book setting on the bb to not allow dups, yet still it does.

What I would like to do is wipe out the address book on the bb, and then sync it from a fresh start. Can I do that?

Thanks for any help,
S.

Had this a couple times on BES. I had to backup the user's original addy book in groupwise, delete both books from his desktop and blackberry, then restore his addy book to groupwise and let it sync again.

Thanks for the reply. How do I delete the book on the blackberry? The only way I see to do it is to delete each entry one by one. Is it possible to multi-select within the addr book? Ugh.

Well, after fiddling around with it for the last couple of hours, here's what I did to get rid of the dups. First of all, I turned off wireless synch for the addr book. Next, in my address book (Contacts) on my Outlook server, I removed all the entries (after I backed it up), except one dummy entry (it wouldn't let me identify an "empty" folder as one to sync with). Then I went in with Desktop Manager, and did a manual sync, which caused all the blackberry entries (with the dups) to be copied up to the Contacts folder on the BES server. Next, I manually deleted all the dups off the server. Then I resynched the Blackberry to it, and it synched it up and deleted all the extras.

It's almost as if it got confused in there somewhere about which direction to go.

Anyway, I know this seems convoluted, but it worked. Kooky.
