I just puchased a new Blackberry 7520 with NEXTEL (waiting for delivery). I'm real exited about it. I will not be using my Blackberry for business like most of you but I am a student, I do freelance drafting, I travel alot, I'm always checking/sending email and I like all the things that RIM and NEXTEL offer. My question is about about pricing and service. I was told by a friend who has one through his job and encouraged me to get one that NEXTEL has a mandatory monthly charge of $49.99 for blackberry service on top of your mobile plan. I have not contacted Nextel yet but I am a bit confused because I got this BLACKBERRY from ebay and I didn't do much research on the service. I joined BB forums some time ago to on the same day with my friend but I never read anything about pricing. Can anyone help me?

Did you contact Nextel with the SIM or IMEI of the unit to make certain it isn't reported as lost/stolen?

No. Not yet. BB still being shipped.

Just FYI if you ever buy like that again request the imei,sim, serial before hand so you can make sure it checks out clean. As for the service yes it is manditory. But more than likely once you get into it you will love it. I haven't even had my service 2 full days yet and i'm already loving it. But the fact that i don't have to pay for it may also help out me liking it cause personally i couldn't see myself paying $50 extra for it.

I hope it works for you alot of the 7520s that have gone around are not working units some have been listed as stolen or lost.

As far as the pricing They are offering a 99.00 all inclusive plan which includes unlimited data and free incoming and 300 anytime minutes I believe this also has unlimited nights and weekends. Nextel is the most expensive BB to own I think but worth every penny to me.
