Default Charge Problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everyone,

Since one week I have the BB 7290, very satisfied but one question. When I charge the battery the Red LED on the outside goes on and off for hours and hours.
When do I know when the battery is fully charged??

Thanks for your answer,

Regards,
Frans

The on-screen battery display should tell you if the battery is full or not. Five bars indicates a full battery (roughly). If you want to get a bit more granular you can go to Options->Status and it will show you the percentage of charge under the "Battery" heading.

Alternative you can use the ALT-CAP-H key sequence to get to the help screen which also displays the percentage of charge beside "Battery Level".

As an aside, the flashing LED is just the new message indicator, and is not representative of any interactions with the battery.

Yup. It is a message indicator. It never flashes while charging.

When the 7290 BB is charging, it shows a little electric bolt next to the five bars showing battery level. When fully charged to 100%, the electric bolt disappears. I now always check for the electric bolt when I plug it in since I had to replace a bad cable that would sometimes charge and sometimes not.

Just an FYI....my 7520's red LED flashes when charging...it does it even when charging and the BB is off!
