Default Old emails not coming in question.. - 08-27-2008, 08:29 PM

Hi,

I let my BB die tonight to drain the battery. When I booted it back up, I had a bunch of texts come in that were sent while it was off. I got no emails though, and I checked outlook and I did have one come in while it was off...

Shouldn't the email have come in when I put on the device along with the texts? It comes in perfectly fine when it's on so no problems there..

Thanks.

Can't answer your question, but I am curious as to why you wanted to drain the battery. That generally does more harm than good with the Li-ion battery. You should never let them get below about 20% from all that I have read. They seem to work best if they are constantly "topped off".

From all my reading, with these kinds of batterys (cell phone, laptop, toothbrush) what you need to do is keep it topped up most of the time. Going all the way to empty and charging it all the way up is not that great, they are happy always being topped up. HOWEVER (and every article I read says this, in fact my toothbrush manual said this too), once in a while (every 3-6 months) you *should* let it die completely, then charge it fully and go back to just topping it up as much as you can and not letting it fully dischange.

The reason I wanted to discharge my bold completely is that it's new and, well, I have gotten horrible battery life the first 2 days I owned it just charging normally so I thought I would let it die fully and charge it up all the way. After this I plan to keep it topped up and not let it die all the time

Yes.

BES or BIS? If BES, check the event logs on the BES for failed redirection messages. Also check for any filters applied on the handset.
