Wanted to post a quick note to everyone re: my experience with my BB during Hurricane Katrina.

I live approximately 60 miles below NO. Luckily, by the graces of God, I had no damage to my home except loss of power (still out as of this writing - I'm at a coffee house in a nearby town).

On Monday morning of the hurricane, my power went out first, then cable, phone and cell service. My phone service just came up yesterday and my cell service (Nextel) is on an off.

To my amazement, I never lost email capability at any time. I was receiving emails on my BB as there was 50-60 mph winds outside. I'm not sure why, but it was somewhat of a blessing as it was my only means of communicating with out of state family and friends for several days since Katrina made landfall.

Glad to hear you made it through fairly unscaved... What a blessing in contrast...
