Uncaught Exceptions

I seem to be getting a lot of the uncaught exceptions with the phone app while i'm receiving calls and with messages.

Phone:
While receiving a call it will either give me the exception and make me miss the call. Or it will give me the exception, I click okay, and it either has the time counter for the call but doesn't have the call screen and it acts otherwise like its not on a phone call or it will ring and give me the exception and not show the incoming call on the screen. (I have a problem answering phone calls with numbers I don't know, and I can't check). Also, this call won't show up in the call log.

Messages:
I can be receiving a message, or looking through my list of messages and it will slow down opening it or scrolling. Then I receive the uncaught exception bla bla bla has been terminated, and you click OK. It closes out the messages and goes to the home screen. Then I am able to go into my messages as normal.

It would be fine if it was just every once in a while..
but I'm getting it multiple times a day.

I was getting the same thing before (not as bad) and upgraded my OS and followed the steps John Clark had on his post "Losing Call Logs, SMS or Emails? Optimize your BB! How To Setup for max free memory!"

Now with the new OS (v4.2.1.109) it is appearing even more.

Did I do something wrong when making more memory?
Or is something else wrong?

Help:(

You may have removed something you shouldn't. Also, do you have any 3rd party apps?

I have the colorpearl installed

I'll just go back through the files and see what I might have removed
:)

I recommend removing ColorPearl and then upgrading to OS 4.5. There is a new colorpearl app called BlingBall that is compatible with OS 4.5.

This is a screenshot of the removed modules folder...
I personally didn't see anything that shouldn't be in there..
Do you?

I'll try installing the new os.. hopefully it works:)

Put the tunebundles back in. Removing those causes issues.

I basically love this new OS..
the only thing I have left on the device that I'm not wanting is the preloaded ringtones.
I only use vibrate on messages.. and I don't use the ringtones/notifiers/alarms at all either.
Is there a .cod to remove to make them go away, or will it just cause problems and I should just deal with them?

John Clark 09-04-2008 09:41 PM

Don't remove the ringtones. It causes problems with the Profiles application. You should be good to go.

Don't forget this:
