Yes, my last phone, Motorola MPx220 had a camera and did the whole picture caller ID thing. Not the most useful thing in the world. The BB displays the name in large bold text, so unless you can't read it really is better. That is of course, unless you really can't associate text with people, I knew someone like that, couldn't apply a story about someone to the actual person unless the was a picture of the dude! Crazy!

Didn't we already have the discussion as to what "category" the BB fit into, cell phone, smartphone, etc? I don't remember "email device" being one of them.

My old 950, and 957 were "email devices" I wouldn't call them pagers, and they certainly weren't cell phones! If you get a BB with just a data plan now it'll certainly be called an email device!

i am restraining myself from not being a smart aleck and responding to this thread...

from the dept of redundancy dept

i am restraining myself from not being a smart aleck and responding to this thread...

but i gotta solution..

tape all of the pictures of the people that would call u (3) to your truck dashboard and then duct tape the bb to the dash, then when you have an incoming call , you read the name of the person who is calling, then pick up the picture and look at it...

just kidding...

Default I am tired

What I can't understand for the life of me is why people buy BBs in the first place. Obviously is not for the e-mail end of it because they are not happy with them, and every day there are ten new people wanting to change something that works. I am a private user, not a corporate one, I use it for Business primarily, though I surf the net at times and have been known to on occassions play a game or two(heaven forfend, I hope that the RIMM gods do not strike me dead for that admission). I am tickled pink with it. I use a bluetooth headest, and the reception is the best I have ever had with any cellular (a plus remember it is an e-mail device first) have had no dropped calls, not one, nil, nada period. I am understood clearly and I understand everyone clearly. People, grow up, take it for what it is, if its not what you want fine, dont knock it for the people that do want it and like it. If you do not have it doing the things you want then sell it I am sure someone will buy it and go to the device of your choice or liking. But in my eyes you came to blackberry for a reason, and you havent left it for another reason yet, so by my simple and limited math skills that tells me that you do not want to leave because it is serving at least the original pourpose you got it for. Need I say more? I could have gotten cute, I could have gotten nasty, but maybe this way we can put all these damned nonsense threads to rest and use this forum for what it was designed, to diseminate information, to teach others and to learn ourselves what we do not know. Yes there are times you do have to ask the questions (does it show picture ids), but once you get the answer drop the issue and move on we will be feeling a lot better about being here and helping the ones that do need the help.
