Default What is the KeyStores function in Option Settings used for?

Please Login to Remove!

Am going through all of my security settings again to make sure they are airtight, and ran into this keystores option. This looks oddly to me like a keylogger function, and I am not sure what it is used for. I wanted to make some changes to this option to change the 'allow key store backup/restore' setting from yes to no, since I initially thought that wouldl make the BB more secure. I am then prompted for my password, but I NEVER set a password on this option, so what should I do? I have a password on my handheld to lock it, and a password on my password keeper, but no pwd set for keystores. So, not knowing the actual password I can't change any elements of this option, nor even change the keystores password. Is there a default password for this function, or is it one of my other passwords? AND more importantly, what is this function even used for? I have major concerns with security with my BB and this just looks odd to me. (mind you, I am a very newbie techie too, so pretty much anything not 100% user friendly looks strange to me as well lol)

As always, TIA!
