Is there any way to reset the BB without having to actually do a battery pull?

Press Alt + Left Shift + Del to restart ur BB without a battery pull.

Alt + RIGHT Shift + Del

When the battery is pulled, is everything lost on the phone? I just got an 8820, but have not yet synched it with a computer. I use Mac at home, and am awaiting a new Macbook Pro to arrive in order to try and backup the phone. I understand that Macs do not use Desktop Manager anyways and that I need to use Pocket Mac or Missing Sync.

I have noticed some of the time when I try the alt + shift + del it will only do a soft reset. The red LED will light for a little and then right to the homescreen without the hourglass and usual one minute wait.

Nothing should be lost with a battery pull on a Blackberry.

Nothing is lost with a battery pull reset, other than browser cache and memory space regain.
