I've recently run into two problems swapping over from 8800 to the 8310 devices.

1. I uploaded the addess book of the device in the switch device wizard but then had to wipe the device. I no longer had the origional but surely the address book must be saved somewhere on my laptop. Does anyone know where the files would be and how I would go about uploading them tio my device again.

2. Emails don't delete from the device when I delete them from my outlook inbox. How do I change the settings for this to happen?

I'd appreciate any suggestions...

1. I would try searching for a file stored on the PC where you did the switch. It will have an IPD extension. That is the backup taken in the first phase of the switch device wizard. Use Desktop Manager's Backup/Restore feature.

2. Are you on BES? Is Wireless Reconciliation enabled?

It's not showing any files to backup and restore wizard. What file path would the files be saved in?

Search your hard drive for it.
It may be in "My Documents" but I can't tell.

Right got it. Now how do I upload it?

Start Desktop Manager
Start Backup / Restore
Click on Restore - find the file and it will restore EVERYTHING.
If you want to only restore the Address Book, click on Advanced and select the Address Book section to restore.

Hmm, I've uploaded the file but no address book, yet the address book transfered over when I switched devices. The file I uploaded was dated yesterday so it must be the right one. I'm confused.

I am using the BES and wireless reconciliation is enabled.

If you are using BES, then contact the BES admins to do another Enterprise Activation and your data will reappear (pushed from the BES).
