Default GMail Issues with sent items

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Before someone yells at me - I have searched the forums and I cannot find a specific answer to my question!

My problem is this:

I use gmail, at home I pop it using mac mail. I also have a forward set up so gmail forwards to my tmo.blackberry.net address. This works great but:

1. Is there anyway of setting it so that replies sent from my blackberry go into my sent folder on gmail (obviously not on my mac mail client, but on my gmail account)

2. Wouldn't IMAP be a better way of doing this?

3. Will the changes to the t-mobile blackberry we client on October 1st make any of this easier?

Thanks

This link tells you how to set up Gmail the way you want and have items sent to the correct folder. I have stuff I send via BB go to a Blackberry Sent folder in gmail. Read the full thread for setup instructions.

GMAIL: should I forward or POP.

sure - set your BWC to BCC [email address] on all sent messages
then in gmail set a filter to filter all messages from yourself without your name in the to ot cc field to the sent folder. problem solved

*it also helps to include another rule that the message must be from you without your name in the to or cc field and with any words in your BB footer in the body (if you have a footer) -- just extra assurance you wont accidently filter unintended messages in there
