Default Windows won't shut down when Blackberry on

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Looking for a solution to a problem. Windows XP is not shutting down when my Blackberry 8830 is turned on. When I choose to shut down and my Blackberry is on, the computer does not power down. It seems to start going through the shut down process and then hangs. All I see is the blue desktop background but no desktop. If I turn my Blackberry off before shutting down, Windows will shutdown without a problem.

It hasn't always done this, just started a couple months ago. Possibly coincides with a reset that I had to do on my Blackberry to resolve a problem syncing my Blackberry with my computer.

Has anyone encountered this before and know if a solution?

Thanks,
Linda

Hi John,

I'm not sure what you mean by connected. I'm using a bluetooth connection so it is not physically connected to my computer. Desktop Manager is closed at the time that I try to shutdown. I'm just wondering what has changed. I'm not doing anything differently but now I'm getting this strange shutdown behavior.

One thing to mention is that I did try installing Desktop Manager 4.3 to see if it would help (I was running 4.2.2) but it didn't help.

I would disconnect the bluetooth connection before shutting down the computer.
