Tried searching for my question but no luck....

If I have an unlimited data plan from AT&T with my Curve, is Google Maps free for me to use? Also, how does the program work, does it use GPS tracking? I've read about the program but am still unsure exactly how it works and whether or not it's free.

It is free. Not sure about the GPS part though. If your phone supports it, I think Maps will use it. If your phone doesn't support it, I think Maps uses the cell tower information to approximate your location.

You are right.. Google maps cellular triangulation to determine the current position of the user. I guess 8310 has inbuilt GPS.. in that case try "http://www.amazegps.com".
