Hi all, im new to posting my own thread but I've been looking at other people's posts for a long time.
I have a 8320 unlocked for which I got data plan for from fido. And I know fido doesn't offer the BB connect anymore, and I know the only reason they have the fido.blackberry.ca is to support clients who got the BB connect before.
I changed the TCP settings of my blackberry to the specifications the Fido rep told me and after much struggle, I realized the only application that I can run that would help me use my newly acquired data plan is Opera, nothing else works.
I called fido and the rep told me if I am able to change the DNS values my problem should be fixed. Right now I get edge signal rather than EDGE so pretty much none of the data requiring features work.
Does anyone know how to change the 8320 DNS settings or has a way around it?
Also if someone could tell me if Im able to set up a non-enterprise email on my device? in the setup it only gives me the enterprise option.

Go to options>status?type BUYR...you wont see anything being typed but just push that sequence of letters..

Check to see if IT policies are still enabled on the phone.

k nothing will work! without the BB data plan only apps that goes through the APN tunnel will work, like the gmail app, and opera, thats it... you cannot change the DNS, nothing... plain and simple... sorry

hi - im in the same situation.

i had a recent data plan added to my unlocked AT&T which ive been using on FIDO (phone only) for the last few months.

Fido Cust Srv told me to alter the APN to
internet.fido.ca
fido
fido
primary: 204.92.15.211
secondary: 204.92.15.212

I`ve been able to change the APN and user-pass but cant find where to change the primary and secondary.

Help?
