So I've been looking at tracking and anti-theft software for my 8110 because my last one was stolen. Ahhh. It still gets me heated. Anyway... So GetItBack seems to be one of the better ones as it combines some of the most features. So there is the remote controlling of the device, gps location snapshot and SIM ID if it is replaced.

Say the thief immediately replaced the SIM after he steals it. How am going to be able to remotely control the phone, get GPS location and a SIM ID if this person has no data plan? Is it going to still send & recieve info through the internet anyway? Not if he doesn't have pay per use definitely. Will it at least send the SIM ID and/or phone number through an SMS?

Welcome to BBF Your questions are very good ones; however, they are probably better suited to the makers of the software.

Roblock is a good app for your needs.

You can wipe the device remotely, including the media card, and instruct it to alarm and alert you when the SIM is changed.

Does Roblock alert via SMS? There would have to be a way for the info to be sent out from the new SIM which may or may not have data available.
