Default Blackberry 7100T Buring Through A Battery Monthly

Hello,
My name is Jennifer. I have a 7100T. The battery died in August. I am now replacing the battery I purchased in August. I got up on Tuesday and found the phone had not recharged overnight. I was not able to re-charge the batter and now the phone is entirely dead. The phone is about 2.5 years old. Does anyone know what the problem may be? I am not able to re-charge the batteries. I will now need to go get a third battery. I would like to find out if there is a solution to resolve this issue.

Was the battery you bought recently branded BlackBerry?

Two scenarios I can think of are: (1) phone is faulty and cannot charge battery (not very likely I'd suggest), or (2) dodgy battery. If you only bought the battery in August I'd be tempted to return it as faulty and try another one.

The problem is in getting a brand new battery for an old phone, it won't be that new, purely because they won't have been manufactured recently.

Some simple things to try would be making sure the battery contacts are clean on both the phone and battery itself, and trying un/plugging it a few times.

Sorry I can't offer anything more exact. I certainly wouldn't give up yet though.

There are three potential culprits here: the battery, the charger, and the phone itself.

Try getting a new charger when you get a new battery. Chargers should be relatively inexpensive.

Try using the new charger to charge the old battery. Then try using the old charger to charge the new battery. Finally, use the new charger to charge the new battery.

If none of these combinations yields better results, it is probably time to upgrade your 7100.
