I have had my bb 8330 for about 1 month now. Today I received 3 email messages supposedly from black berry. Is this normal? Why would they go via email on not just sent from blackberry through the system?

They read as follows or similar:

----Original Message-----
From: [email address]
[mailto:network@etp1105.etp.na.blackberry.net]
Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2008 9:48 AM
To: [email address] (my email address)
Subject: RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2

DM stands for Desktop Manager--that nifty software you install on a PC; lets you sync, install and upgrade your device OS.

Please follow the instructions here > I keep getting odd emails from RIM - BlackBerryFAQ

I didn't change anything in desktop manager so I wonder why I was getting those messages all of a sudden.

I did as instructed in the link.

thanks

I have no idea how that happened on yours.
I hope all is well now.
