Default Read Emails Change to Unread on BB in Lotus Notes 6.5.1

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all.

I have a BES running 4.1.x and we use Domino 6.5.1 for email. On occasion, I have a few users who about once a week suddenly get read emails turning back to unread. I know RIM suggests some crazy fix for this, but has anyone else has issues like that and resolved them? It apparently has something to do with the read/unread marks log inside a mail db going out of sync, but I would prefer a simpler fix, if possible, then the RIM method.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thx

Davige

Hi Davige,
i've come across this one quite a lot, and it's generally a lot simpler than RIM make out.

If you either get the user to do this, or do it yourself from their mailfile it should solve it!

Goto the database properties of the users mailfile, select the design tab, make sure the "Do not mark modified documents as unread" box IS ticked.

Basically what's happening is that when the BES reads the mail, the domino server sees it as a modification and so marks it as unread!

Hope this helps?!!
