Last week, I updated to the latest firmware on my 8700f (8700M_PBr4[1].5.0_rel92_PL2.7.0.72_A4.5.0.69_Orange_France) and since then I havn't been able to do an "ALT+O" under messages to see my "Out Box"

No-one has been able to help, so I figured it was worth trying to downgrade.. I did a search and it seems fairly straight forwards, but its not working. I am almost sure that its something I am doing wrong, but I can't work out what.. Here is what I have done.

1. Under "Add Remove Programs" removed ALL of the firmware versions I have installed before now (x3)

2. Install the last firmware which I know worked (8700M_PBr4[2].5.0_rel81_PL2.7.0.68_A4.5.0.55_F100)

3. Deleted the VENDOR.XML file

4. Restarted 'Desktop Manager"

But now when I go into "Update Applications", "No software is available for your device"


What am I missing?

After you delete every thing try restarting your PC and see if that makes a difference.

Thats exactly the process I followed.. I have since done another test..

Again, I removed all "Device Software" from under Add/Remove Programs, and this time installed the previous version again (8700M_PBr4[1].5.0_rel75_PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52_Orange_Romania)

Add/Remove programs shows it, but Desktop Manager does not give me the option to "upgrade"..

I will try a reboot now, but I can't imagine that it will work.. But you never know!

And I have now tried everything (including a reboot)...

HELP!!!!


Edit: Hang on.. I just clicked on the "Advanced" button and in there is a list of 'applications' which say "Downgrade" against the action!! It looks like there is an extra step which I wasn't aware of!
