Default Help! New user with sync problems.

Please Login to Remove!

I am a new Blackberry user. I have successfuly installed my Blackberry softwear, but when I try to synce my BB with Outlook I have a problem. My computer and BB recognize a connection bewteen them, but when I try to sync my Sychronization in Prigress window appears, but nothing furhter happens. AFter waiting as ong as an hour I try to stop the sync process and I have to control/at/delted to get out of the program. I can't get any help from Sprint and I have a difficult time paying for tech dervice with Blackberry on a phone that is only 2 days old.

Can anyone help?

Are you using BIS or BES? Did you select the correct option for the Desktop Manager? it ask if you use BES or not and that may be the issue if you selected the wrong option

Thanks for your reply. I have no Idea what BIS or BES is, consequently I don't know which I am using. How would I determine that and where would I choose that option? No where was hat option selection offered.

Found info on BIS and BES. It appears that I use BIS because my yahoo and aol emails are automatically redirected to my BB. Never the less I am never asked to select between the two when I go to sync.

When you installed the DM, it asked you if the device will be connected to Enterprise Server or you will be using Internet Service, at sync, it won't ask you anything
Also it won't sync old e-mails you have in your outlook, it will sync contacts, calendar, tasks and notes

jjmach, I had high hopes as I reinstalled the DM and connected my phone to the computer because for the first time my computer flashed the message "new hardware detected." But, unfortunately I still cannot sync and when I go to stop the sync process the message appears that the synce process is cancelling operation and to please wait. Well, I can wait till the cows come home, I still have to control/alt/delete to get out of the program.

Thanks for your help. If youu or anyone else has additional thoughts I would appreciate your input.
