Just click the trackball or menu key and select "Next."

I've tried it a dozen times now without any luck.

8830 world edition
Verizon
OS 4.2.2.66

When I get into 'status' I type in 'test' and nothing happens...nothing. Am I missing a step? TEST in all caps? Am I supposed to be hovering over a certain line item when I type it? Arggghhhh...

Just watch out on the signal strength test. The number they have you call is in a Canadian area code. I have one minute of international calling racked up because of that.

Default What OS Level is Needed? - 09-27-2008, 01:07 PM

I have a BB Pearl running OS4.2.1.96 and can't seem to get it to work. Its Suretype and so I've tried hitting the a/s key one and also hitting it twice with no luck.

Does anyone know what the minimum OS release level is for this to work?

Seems to only work for 4.5.x devices. Also that RIM number can be changed. On my 8330 I changed it to a local number and got "SIM card is missing. Please insert a valid SIM card!"
So the RF test only works if your bb uses a SIM card.

anyone get this to work on a sure type device?

My pearl 8130 with 4.3 wont do it either.

All the other devices work fine in the office all 8300s and 8800 of different types.

on a side note,

do it to someone who hasnt seen this yet, go to the screen test and put it on blue and hand it back to them and watch their re-action.

Its pretty funny.

Edit i figured out the sure type.

Turn on multi tap.
go into status.
hold down the sift key, press T E S T(only hit the key 2 times S)
should take ya into it.

On my 8130 I just type "test" as if Multi-Tap were already turned on--I don't have to switch it from SURE Type to Multi-Tap. OS 4.5.0.77.
