We could have called this an Easter Egg. However, none of us found it before RIM posted a Kb about it.

I wonder if they run this test on devices that are sent back for some defect.

I did chill out. I gave up caring what people think about me for Lent.

The wording was uncalled for though, even with the smiley face.

As for the find, 2 thumbs up to you JC.
Thanks!

Cool. Passed them all. Well, I was too lazy to go get my bt and wired headsets, so I cheated on those tests. Similar to my history tests in high school.

During the scrollball test, the word "right" was spelled incorrectly as well.

RIM is not swift at speedy OS releases or spelling.

It would be nice if they were only because it will make for a better product so people don't flock to the IPhone or the other touch phone that coming out.
Not that I like apple but that other touch phone that coming out looks promising. Anyway, I would have to wait till Oct 2010 to be able to upgrade my 8310 so I am all for improvements for today's products and the sooner the better.

Wow! Nice! It's the newest sensation at the office now. I especially like the ambient light test. Really cool.

For the RF Antenna Test, it asks which number to dial. The default is 15198887465, or at least mine is. Does everyone has the same? I don't dare to dial, as it would be a long distance call for me, but anyone knows what's that telephone number for?

It's a number of RIM's that you can call for the.. well, I forget what the test is, but yeah. Signal strength reading, I think.

But yes, I did also have that same number.

I called it last night about midnight. It is a RIM number, you will get their main mailbox prompts, etc.

Interesting... that article has been pulled by RIM, but the directions and all posted above still work.

haha, but the applet on our device stays the same.

I bet it was all the odd phone calls they were getting from the RF test.

Can you imagine the manager over that... how his head is getting beat down by those higher up.

"WHY did you put the RIM phone number in test, eh? Too much Moosehead, eh?"

This also works for me if I type "testicle" on the Status screen? Does that seem odd to anyone else?

Mine seem to stall on the "ambient light" sensor testing - just changing the value depending on the orientation of my 8830 to light sources. It did not move on to another test????
