Default 8310 Will not Sync with 4.5

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Pearl 8310 that I have been using successfully with DM 4.2.2. It suddenly stopped syncing altogether. The DM software hangs once a connection is established. I followed instructions for a clean uninstall/reinstall of DM using 4.5 and completely wiping all registries, etc. The software appears to be running well, however, when I connect the mobile device the Desktop Manager hangs and I cannot set sync settings or have access to the BB. I have spent most of my time cleaning up the DM. What should I be looking at? Obviously this is not the problem.

Thanks.

Welcome to the BBForums.

I would look at installing DM 4.6 on your PC... DM4.5 was buggy, in my opinion.

This is my third version of DM installed and all respond the same way to a connected BB trying to sync. Could it be the software in the BB? How do I reinstall that?

Where is your USB plugged to the PC? Must be a rear USB port... not a USB hub, not a monitor hub or a front PC port.

It's plugged into a USB port on the side of the laptop (Dell Latitude).
I guess I can't upgrade the OS if the computer doesn't recognize the sync.

You could try installing DM 4.6, many people report better success with it.

OK -- we'll give it a try. It just seems like something has gone wrong with the mobile device because DM behaves well until it is connected. I'll get back to you when I try it. thanks.
