Default My BB won't turn on

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to this forum thing, so sorry if i sound clueless or if i posted in teh wrong section
I'm totally freaking out right now
I just bought a USB cable from wal-mart that said it was compatible for BB pearl 8100 so.. i connected it as soon as i got home and then it asked me for a password.
Since i bought this phone from a guy outside a phone store, i just entered the one that i set to lock/unlock my phone
it said it was incorrect. it being the only password i've put on my phone of a week, i kept entering it
it threatened to wipe out memory, so i typed in one more time and checked my spelling and punctuation. It said "wiping: 2 minutes remaining" so whats wrong?? how do i fix it?? why won't it turn on?? someone please help..

Well the password you typed was wrong so you entered it most likely 10 times and it wipped your device. It will restart and go back to default.

Yeah, i was kinda panic-y and didn't know what else to do except be stupid and enter it 10 times. When will it restart?

Try pulling the battery and putting it back in.

It wipes the whole BB and you have to re-install the OS.

A multiple-socket USB connector that allows several USB-compatible devices to be connected to a computer.

BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ
wipe the device with the instructions there under wipe with JL commander. Then download and install your OS from the 8100 forum here on the site. After that, it will reinstall the OS on your device and you will be good to go.

Just follow the instructions and you should not have any problems. There is pretty much nothing you can't fix as long as you don't physically break it.
