I set up a email address that I only use in my blackberry to bcc my sent mails from my 8830 to myself so I can have a copy on my desktop.

Within the last couple weeks I have noticed that my bcc email which is only in my blackberry shows these sent spam messages that say:

Code:

Subject: Delivered: (whatever spam message)
Body: Your message was delivered to the recipient.Original-Message-ID:861
Final-Recipient: (my regular email)
Action:Delivered

I don't have Delivery confirmation or Read confirmation enabled on my BB.

So for example in my spam folder I have message received at 6am with the Subject "Your Health is our goal" then at 7am a message with the subject "Delivered: Your Health is our goal" that is going to a different recipient but coming from me.

It seems like I get a spam message then a little time later it gets forwarded to a different person.

Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas what's happening?

A spammer is using the email address to send out emails. It usually stops in about a week. There is nothing you can do. They are spoofing your email address.

You can open a new email account and use it. Or wait this through. Nothing is happening on your side.

So I figured out what it is.
I am getting a spam message to my blackberry and it is sending a read receipt when i open it. I have all the confirmations turned off on my device is there a way to stop them from sending out on received emails?

Spam emails bounced from BB to other people
